Balaídos is the scene of one of Ferran Torres' standout moments as a Valencia CF player to date. The VCF Academy product scored his first league goal for the club there, and joined a select group of young players.
Aged 18 years, 10 months and 20 days at the time of his LaLiga strike against Celta, Torres became the third youngest player in history to find the net for Valencia CF in league action. Only Juan Mena and Fernando Gómez Colomer were younger when opening their accounts.
It was back in January of this year, and helped the team to an important victory thanks to a second half fightback. Torres had come on from the bench on the hour mark, and needed just minutes to level the game, off a cross from José Luis Gayà. A late goal from Rodrigo clinched the three points for Valencia CF.
The teenager normally exchanges shirts with opposition players at the final whistle, but that time around there was no way he was going to part with the garment. It takes pride of place in his house, alongside the shirt from his first team debut.
